What a title!!! I'm taking a quick break from writing another set of papers to vent a little frustration the new fashioned way: blogging. Considering I haven't studied much of anything since my junior year of college (senior year I decided to "wing it," which while not my best idea, I still graduated on time); and considering I haven't really done much of anything since leaving GSA in May, I'm a LITTLE bit overwhelmed with school. I'm not sure why I had to be such a rebel with this one - conventional wisdom says "get your feet wet;" instead I jumped in. "A little dab will do ya," so I signed up for the maximum credit hours allowed per semester... God forbid I don't have my cake and eat it too, but I'm sure none of you are surprised. There is a reason my nickname is Trainwreck.
In case you missed it, school is hard. I'm not sure what I was expecting with an online masters program, but I think "easier" might have come to mind! 4 papers due per week. 4 research papers due at the end (that's EIGHTY pages of writing... and no, I can't submit the same paper to different classes), but I have to say, I absolutely love it! It's challenging (clearly), time consuming (daily activities with weekend paper writing marathons), and I find it fascinating (who knew that until 1996 the identity of the director of the Mossad -Israel's version of the CIA- was a state secret? Can you imagine if we didn't disclose the names of the leaders of our intelligence agencies?? Congress would FLIP!). All things considered, I'm loving it, but I will say in reading about globalization and the unipolarity of the world, am thinking I'd like to outsource my research for my international security class to India....
We left Denver yesterday for Kansas, and although we had a blast in D-town, it is SO good to be home!!! Bree and mom are both working, Tanner, Margaret, Chris and the nephews are ALL napping, so it's back to papers before the KC chaos resumes!!
